Square Deal and Open Studios September 5

Thursday, September 5 is almost here, are you ready? It’s almost time for Square Deal: 50 Artists for Democracy a fundraiser for the Movement Voter Project, an organization working hard to get out the critical swing-state vote this November.

Here’s the Deal:  Starting at 5pm on September 5, art lovers can donate $200 or more to Movement Voter Project through a dedicated link, screenshot their receipt, and pick out one of fifty 8-inch square works of art by fifty fabulous Seattle artists (including me!!!), made just for this show.

The art will be displayed on the third floor of ‘57 Biscayne during our First Thursday Open Studio event, and will simultaneously be displayed in an online gallery, with a link to the donation portal, so you can participate from anywhere (but I would love to see your smiling face). Join the mailing list  to get first notice when the portal goes live.

We’ll be open from 5-8pm on Thursday, September 5. The gallery page and donation link will remain open until all the art is snatched up!

Lots of things happening in ArtLand! I have three pieces in a show at the 2024 Kent Summer Art Exhibit at 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032. Please check it out if you’re in the area.

Save the date for a ‘57 Biscayne Open Studio on September 5, from 5-8PM. There will be artwork for sale to benefit Movement Voter Project that you can see LIVE and in person! Art TBD.

And, finally, I am excited to share that I’ve been selected for the City of Seattle Public Art Roster! We’ll see what the future holds…

Icons of the Inside Passage Opening March 7, 5-9PM

Hello! Hello! It’s time for a show! Come check out my show at Collins Pub in Pioneer Square, Icons of the inside Passage. I spent time traveling through the Inside Passage, the waterway connecting the Salish Sea and southeast Alaska, while working as an expedition guide/naturalist on a small cruise ship. I find these interconnected ecosystems fascinating. The change from the natural grandeur of Alaska to the gentler and more populated shorelines of the Salish Sea is really obvious when traveling by ship, and I think it’s interesting that the same dichotomy showed up in my paintings.

Come check it out! I’ll be there on March 7 from 5-9PM, so you can join me for a beer. Or come some other time for lunch or appetizers. I like their calamari, and I’ve heard they have good burgers too! Details below:

Holiday Open House this Thursday!

It’s almost time for our Holiday Open House at ‘57 Biscayne. This one’s for friends and family, and you’re on the list! Come join me and two floors of artists for wine, appetizers, conviviality, and plankton. I’ll be giving away a tiny piece of art to anyone who ventures into my studio, #206, all the way at the end of the hallway. Be sure to stop by M&M Jewelry Studio.
